Wound Care Nurses may also assist in the development of nursing care plans and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care:

• Supporting nursing assistants in performing daily tasks and providing regular health care.
• Conducting resident/patient treatments.
• Administering medication in a systematic and organized manner as prescribed by the physician.
• Submitting pharmacy orders.
• Accurately documenting and archiving all relevant data.
• Delivering medication via injection according to prescribed medication plan.
• Checking the status of residents' well-being and reporting it to medical staff, including RNs, Supervisors, and Physicians.
• Monitoring significant physiological factors by measuring blood pressure, body temperature, and weight.
• Dispensing primary care services, which involve cleaning injured areas and applying dressings.
• The management of IVs and infusion therapy is crucial for patient safety and successful treatment.
• When monitoring fluid and food intake and output, healthcare professionals take into account the patient's age, weight, medical history, and any underlying medical conditions.
• Observing and recording any accidents, incidents, or skin deterioration that may occur among residents.
• Working under the directives of the admissions staff to complete necessary tasks.
