Patient Care Nurses may also help in maintaining a sterile and safe environment for patients and assist with maintaining medical equipment, such as monitoring and cleaning equipment:

• Assisting CNAs with the performance of daily tasks that involve activities of daily living and routine healthcare procedures.
• Conducting resident/patient treatments.
• Efficiently and effectively delivering medication to promote positive health outcomes for the patient.
• Submitting pharmacy orders.
• Ensuring accurate documentation of all necessary information.
• Following prescribed medication injections protocol.

• The process of managing IVs and initiating infusion treatments should follow established standards.
• Monitoring fluid and food intake and output is a simple way to help keep the body healthy and to ensure that electrolyte and nutrient imbalances are detected and treated early.
• Keeping a record of household mishaps, occurrences, and signs of skin damage among residents.
• Contributing to the admissions process through cooperation and following instructions.
