Practical Nurse Specialists assist in patient rehabilitation, such as physical therapy, mobility exercises and respiratory therapy which will help patients recover faster and improve their well being:

• Aiding certified nursing assistants in carrying out tasks associated with activities of daily living and routine care.
• Conducting resident/patient treatments.
• Monitoring the individual's response to medication and recognizing adverse reactions.
• Submitting pharmacy orders.
• Capturing and documenting important details with precision.
• Executing prescribed medication injections regimen.
• Keeping a close eye on the well-being of residents and informing RNs, Supervisors, and Physicians of their immediate health conditions.
• Recording vital signs that involve measuring blood pressure, temperature, and weight for medical purposes.
• Delivering primary healthcare assistance, comprising the disinfection and bandaging of wounds.
• Proper IV management and the ability to initiate infusion therapy is essential in healthcare.
• Monitoring food intake and output can be particularly relevant in individuals with digestive disorders or those who have undergone gastrointestinal surgery.
• Documenting resident injuries, incidents, and any skin breakdowns that may occur and notifying the appropriate personnel.
• Playing a role in the admissions process by following directives.
